Gorgias
What do brilliant words without truth destroy?
📝ONGO's Reflection
Reading the scenes in which Socrates argues with the foremost rhetoricians of his day, I felt to the bone the difference between empty, showy words and genuine truth. Plato's insight warns how a rhetoric meant only to defeat others sickens the soul, and fiercely asks what a just and upright way of life must be. In these days awash with words that mislead public opinion, it is a great book that makes us think anew about the power of sincere language.
"Doing injustice is a greater evil than suffering it."Plato, Gorgias
"불의를 행하는 것은 불의를 당하는 것보다 더 큰 악이다."
