📜 Origin and History

March 1st, 1919 — when Koreans cried "Long Live Korean Independence" against Japanese occupation. The hanja "節" originally meant a bamboo node (竹+卽) → a time-marker, a holiday. The "Declaration of Korean Independence" (Gimi Manifesto) marked the peak of Korean national consciousness.
