📖 Origin of the Hanja

The hanja "農" depicts handling fields (田) when stars (辰) rise — farming by the sky. "夫" is an adult man with a hairpin (一). 農夫 = "the farming adult". The oldest sacred profession in the East. The phrase 農者天下之大本 — "the farmer is the great foundation of all under heaven" — defined Joseon's social order.
