📖 Origin of the Hanja
The hanja "白" depicts sunlight → white. Korean Baek descends from Baek Woo-gyeong, a Tang scholar who settled in Silla. Modernist poet Baek Seok (1912-1996) wrote 「I, Natasha, and the White Donkey」 — beloved by writer Lee Sang.
