📖 Origin of the Hanja
The hanja "河" combines 氵 (water) + 可 → great river. Korean Ha traces to Ha Gong-jin (Goryeo Hyeonjong era), who was taken hostage by the Khitan during their invasion and chose death after deceiving them.
