📖 Origin of the Hanja
The hanja "鄭" was an ancient Chinese state during the Zhou dynasty, founded BC 806. After Zheng fell, descendants took the state's name as surname. In Korea, Jeong traces to Silla's Six Villages — Jibaekho of Bonpibu became the Gyeongju Jeong founder. The Dongnae Jeong produced many prime ministers in Goryeo and Joseon.
