📖 Origin of the Hanja
The hanja "郭" combines 邑 (town) + 享 → outer city wall. Korean Kwak descends from Kwak Gyeong (Goryeo Injong era). Kwak Jae-u (1552-1617), the "Red-robed General," led volunteer armies during the Imjin War.
🏯 Main Clans (Bongwan)
