📖 Origin of the Hanja
The hanja "徐" depicts walking slowly and calmly. Originated from the ancient state of Xu in eastern China. Korean Seo descends from Silla's Six Villages. The Icheon Seo founder, Seo Sin-il, has a famous deer-rescue legend from the late Silla period. Seo Geo-jeong (1420-1488) was a celebrated Joseon prime minister.
