📖 Origin of the Hanja
The hanja "尹" depicts a hand holding a staff — "one who governs". In ancient China it was an official title (Soyun, Daeyun). Korean Yoon trace to Silla through Yun Ri, ancestor of Papyong Yoon — five queens of the Joseon dynasty came from this clan, including Queen Munjeong.
