🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What does the boatman, having moored among rugged rocks, wait for?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is an anonymous Yuan-dynasty Chinese painting, holding a boatman who has moored in a cove ringed by rocks. Rugged rock and still water coexist on one surface. In this scene I see the wisdom of knowing where to stay. The boatman does not force his way through the rough waters but moors his boat a while in the rock's shade. In fierce places, to rest a while and await the time is as important as the work of rowing. To stop is not the opposite of advancing but a breath taken to go farther.

🌱Apply It Today

Before a fierce current, do not force it; find a place to rest a while.
