Landscape of Qin Palaces <span cla
"What does a canvas imagining the palaces of ancient Qin convey?"
📝ONGO's Reflection
This is a painting from the Yuan dynasty by an unknown hand, drawing the palaces of ancient Qin within a landscape. It revived on the canvas, through imagination, the glory of a far-off dynasty already vanished. Though it came from the tradition of Chinese painting, its gaze carries anywhere. I see, in this painting, an attitude that faces impermanence. Even the palaces of Qin, which once commanded all under heaven, now remain only as imagination within a painting. However vast the power, it crumbles before time. Yet in the act of reviving that ruin as a painting lies a heart that would gaze calmly upon rise and fall and carve out a lesson. Because we know things vanish, we hold the present precious.
