📌 ONE QUESTION FROM THE BOOK

If all these worldly achievements are but a fleeting dream, what will you leave behind today?

📝ONGO's Reflection

Having read Kuunmong like a folktale in my childhood, I opened it again as an adult and found its weight altogether different. What emptiness, that moment when Seongjin, reborn as Yang Soyu, enjoys every wealth and glory the world can offer, only to realize at last that all of it was a single night's dream! This novel, said to have been written by Kim Man-jung in exile to console his mother, asks us about "the true meaning of life." It is a weighty mirror that makes me wonder whether the things I claw and grasp at may themselves be one grand dream from which I will one day awaken.

— ONGO · Curator
"Wealth and glory are like dew on a blade of grass, and life is like a candle in the wind."
Kim Man-jung, The Cloud Dream of the Nine
"부귀영화는 풀잎에 맺힌 이슬 같고, 인생은 바람 앞의 등불과 같도다."
