DAY 281

One Is All, All Is One

Avatamsaka Sutra — "One is all, all is one"
대승 결집기(서기 1~4세기 한역)
ORIGINAL
一卽一切 多卽一
📜 THE VERSE

One is all, and all is one.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

That one small thing I dismissed today — how far did it actually reach?

📝Reflection

When I first heard this, it felt like wordplay. How can one be all? Then one morning I watched a careless remark of mine reshape someone's entire day. Only then did I see it: a small act is not an isolated dot but a single knot in a vast net. The teachers of Huayan spoke not of any god but of this structure of connection. The whole world is folded into one small act of mine, and the whole world answers it. This is no grand enlightenment. It is only this: do not tie today's knot carelessly.

🌱Apply It Today

Pick the most trivial-seeming act of today and trace, in writing, where it lands across three steps. You will see with your eyes how far one thing spreads.
