技 (skill) + 術 (technique) + 者 (person)
📖 Origin of the Hanja
The hanja "技" depicts hand (扌) handling branches (支) — skill. "術" combines path (行) with crop (术) — set methods. 技術者 = "one trained in skill and technique". Joseon often disdained artisans, but King Jeongjo's Suwon Hwaseong project recognized their value.
