DAY 74

A Fool Delights Only in His Own Opinion

Proverbs 18:2
기원전 10~6세기 편집 (히브리 지혜문학)
ORIGINAL
לֹא־יַחְפֹּץ כְּסִיל בִּתְבוּנָה כִּי אִם־בְּהִתְגַּלּוֹת לִבּוֹ
📜 THE VERSE

A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in airing his own opinion.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

In a conversation, am I there to understand, or just waiting my turn to unload my own words?

📝Reflection

Often I pretended to converse while really waiting only for my turn. The other's words became background noise while my head was busy assembling a rebuttal. This verse calls that habit folly — caring nothing for understanding, wanting only to pour out oneself. Real conversation begins when I set my own thoughts down for a moment and grow curious about the other.
