DAY 20

The Path of the Just Is Like Dawn

Proverbs 4:18
기원전 10~4세기
ORIGINAL
וְאֹרַח צַדִּיקִים כְּאוֹר נֹגַהּ הוֹלֵךְ וָאוֹר
📜 THE VERSE

The path of the just is like the dawn, shining brighter and brighter until full day.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Impatient with the present dark, have I forgotten the patience of a path that brightens slowly?

📝Reflection

The road of upright living is dim at first, frustratingly so. Honesty looks like loss, and diligence goes unnoticed. Yet this verse likens that path to dawn. Dawn does not brighten all at once. From dark to gray, from gray to red, it lightens very slowly. A life built rightly is the same: invisible in a single day, but after ten years the person has become someone else. The impatient cannot bear this slow brightening and slip onto shortcuts. But only the one who walks the dawn to its end knows the light of noon.
