DAY 29

The Wise Love Those Who Correct Them

Proverbs 9:8
기원전 10~4세기
ORIGINAL
הוֹכַח לְחָכָם וְיֶאֱהָבֶךָּ
📜 THE VERSE

Correct the wise, and they will love you for it.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

When someone points out my fault, do I defend first, or thank first?

📝Reflection

The most accurate test dividing the foolish from the wise is the response to criticism. The fool hates the one who points out his fault; the wise are grateful instead. For that person saw, on their behalf, a flaw invisible to their own eyes. Many will praise us, but rare is the one who painfully corrects us. Such a person is not to be hated but treasured as a teacher. Even if pride stings for a moment, the instant we receive the correction with thanks, we become a little better than yesterday.

🌱Apply It Today

If someone points out your mistake today, say 'thank you' once before you explain.
