📖 Origin of the Hanja
The hanja "梁" combines 木 + 水 + 㓞 — wooden beam over water → bridge. Korean Yang traces to Yang Eul-na of Jeju, one of three founders of the Samseonghyeol legend. Yang Sa-eon (1517-1584) was one of Joseon's Four Great Calligraphers and wrote the famous sijo "Mt. Tai is high, but it is just a hill under heaven."
🏯 Main Clans (Bongwan)
