Bamboo Branch with Berries and Bir

열매 맺힌 대나무 가지와 새
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What strength lies in that which bends yet does not break?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is an anonymous Chinese painting in which a bird rests on a bamboo branch hung with berries. The refinement of Chinese ink-bamboo painting runs through it, yet the meaning bamboo holds rings true in any land. In this painting I see supple strength. Bamboo sways in the wind but does not break, and because it is hollow within, it stands all the straighter. To be strong is not to be stiff; it endures long because it knows how to bend. Bending is not weakness but another kind of strength, the strength of refusing to be broken.

🌱Apply It Today

When pressure comes, rather than blindly holding out, learn the way to bend supplely and endure.
