This is an anonymous Chinese painting in which a single bird sits quietly on a flowering branch. The delicate mood of Chinese bird-and-flower painting is held in it, yet its resonance reaches anyone. In this painting I see the preciousness of a place to rest. The bird flies the whole forest, but in the end it chooses one branch to alight upon and rest.
