🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What was the heart that carefully drew a single lush cluster of fruit?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is a painting from the Northern Song dynasty by an unknown hand, holding a single cluster of purple lychees. It finely brought to life the color and grain of the fruit set in tight beads. Though it came from the tradition of Chinese painting, its gaze carries anywhere. I see, in this painting, the devotion that beholds the harvest. Even a single cluster of fruit holds within it the sunlight, the rain, and the time it took to form. A harvest well formed did not come of itself but at the end of an unseen process. When one reckons not only the abundance before the eyes but the long time behind it, the harvest comes more precious.
