Dream Journey to Peach Blossom Land

🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What was the heart that tried to seize, in a painting, an ideal land seen in a dream?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is the painting in which An Gyeon rendered the Peach Blossom Land where Prince Anpyeong wandered in a dream. The composition begins in the mountains of reality, grows steeper and steeper, and opens at last into another world full of peach blossoms. The ideal land lies not on level ground but beyond a rugged path. What draws my heart is that this painting depicts a dream. To set onto silk what cannot be grasped is the desperate effort of one who would not forget it. Even unreached, an ideal once drawn becomes a direction when the way is lost.
