📜 THE VERSE

The shaping power fashioned sun and moon as before, and set in order the heavens and the earth, the wide air and the world of light.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Do I see the daily return of sun and moon as monotony, or as the grace of an order restored?

📝Reflection

The phrase 'as before (yathā-pūrvam)' lingers. Sun and moon return to the same place each day; the seasons keep their order without fail. See this repetition as monotony and life becomes a treadmill; see it as order and it becomes the grace of a world rebuilt for me each day. The plain fact that the sun rises without fail each morning is, in truth, not plain at all. That repetition can be trusted — only upon it do we plan tomorrow and sow seed.

Tomorrow, pause at the window for the ordinary sunrise and receive it as 'a day set in order again.'
