Fear and Trembling
Do I have the courage to stand alone toward my absolute belief, transcending mere social ethics?
📝ONGO's Reflection
When I first picked up this book, the philosophical dissection of that terrible moment when Abraham was about to offer up Isaac left me breathless. Kierkegaard digs into the paradox of faith, which universal morality and ethics cannot explain. The resolve to stand as a single individual before the Absolute, in solitude and dread, rather than living safely by following the crowd. To me, who drifts along with the opinions of the many, he poses the heavy responsibility of becoming a true individual.
"Faith is accompanied by anxiety. Without anxiety, it is not a leap of faith but mere habit."Søren Kierkegaard, Fear and Trembling
"믿음은 불안을 동반한다. 불안이 없다면 그것은 결단이 아니라 습관에 불과하다."
