Nothing to Attain, Because Already Whole
Because there is nothing to attain, the awakened lean only on wisdom. This is the place where the rush to fill oneself with more is set down.
Am I always chased by the lack that says "only with more will I be complete"?
📝Reflection
If the earlier "nothing to attain" was the result of fearlessness, this verse is its starting point: "because there is nothing to attain." The feeling that most stubbornly follows our lives is lack — that something is missing, that we must have more, that we are not yet complete. This lack is never filled, however much we pour in. Have one, and we want two; reach the summit, and a higher peak appears. The insight of this verse is startling: there was nothing to attain to begin with. That is, we are already whole, just as we are. Lack is not a fact but an illusion the mind makes. Happiness is not in filling more, but reveals itself when we set down the thought that we must fill. The moment we open the hand reaching for more, we see what was already in it.
🌱Apply It Today
When the lack of "if only I had this too" arises today, pause and recall three things "I already have." The hand opens.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
