DAY 150

Nowhere to Come From, Nowhere to Go

Diamond Sutra, Ch.29 (Stillness of Conduct)
현장(玄奘) 한역 648년
ORIGINAL
無所從來 亦無所去 故名如來
📜 THE VERSE

Coming from nowhere, going nowhere — thus called "the one who is just so." A mind whole in the now, without coming or going.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I skipping over "now," always rushing toward some next place?

📝Reflection

We always feel we came from somewhere and are going somewhere — from yesterday, headed for tomorrow. So the mind never fully rests "here." We eat while thinking of the next task, walk while thinking of the destination. This verse's "coming from nowhere, going nowhere" stops that busy transit. In truth, the only place we actually exist is always now, here. The past is memory, the future imagination. Set down the illusion of coming and going, and the mind at last drops anchor in this present moment. In that stillness, life stops slipping past and becomes something that abides.

🌱Apply It Today

For one task today, say inwardly "right now I am here," and pause thoughts of what comes next.
