DAY 334

The Secret of Plenty and Want

Philippians 4:12
기원후 1세기
ORIGINAL
οἶδα καὶ ταπεινοῦσθαι, οἶδα καὶ περισσεύειν.
📜 THE VERSE

I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. I have learned the secret of both being full and being hungry.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I still the same person when things go well and when they go badly?

📝Reflection

Paul says he "learned" not only how to bear want but how to handle plenty. We usually think scarcity tests a person, but abundance tests more severely. It is hard not to shrink in lack, but harder not to swell in plenty. I was a person whose face and manner changed with circumstance. Maturity is when the outside rises and falls yet the inside does not sway. Only when you can pass through both plenty and want with the same step do you become the master of your own life.
