DAY 38

Who Refreshes Others Is Refreshed

Proverbs 11:25
기원전 10~4세기
ORIGINAL
נֶפֶשׁ־בְּרָכָה תְדֻשָּׁן וּמַרְוֶה גַּם־הוּא יוֹרֶא
📜 THE VERSE

Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed; whoever waters will be watered.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I someone who waters others, or one who only complains of thirst?

📝Reflection

If the previous verse spoke the paradox of giving, this one paints its principle in the image of water. The one who waters others is watered too. Strangely, the heart moves opposite to water. Pour water on others and yours decreases; but encouragement and love, the more you pour on others, the more they well up within you. Everyone has known the odd experience of one's own heart brightening first after cheering someone on. Giving is not a bottomless jar but a well that deepens the more you draw. The moment you reach out to revive another, it is you who revives first.
