Who Trusts in Riches Will Fall
Whoever trusts in riches will fall, but the just will thrive like a green leaf.
Am I standing on roots so shallow that when my bank balance shakes, I shake with it?
📝Reflection
Wealth is a good tool but a bad master. The moment we make it the root of life, the whole person shakes each time the balance trembles. The Hebrew sage warned not against money itself but against trusting money alone. Riches are a leaf blown by wind — lush today, they may fall tomorrow; but a life lived rightly is a root sunk in earth that remains though seasons change. The Stoics, too, said not to stake happiness on external things. Use money, but do not build yourself upon it. What you stand on decides whether you stand or fall when the storm comes.
🌱Apply It Today
When money worries shake you today, write down three things other than money that hold you up.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
