📜 THE VERSE

A glad heart brightens the face, but heartache crushes the spirit.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Have I forgotten that the state of my heart spreads to others through my face?

📝Reflection

The heart, though hidden, leaks out through the face. The Hebrew sage points to this simple truth. A glad heart brightens the face, and that bright face spreads to those around. A heavy heart, by contrast, sinks the expression, and its shadow too transfers to those nearby. So tending my heart toward brightness is not my concern alone but a courtesy to those beside me. This does not mean forcing a smile but caring for the garden of the heart. The small habit of counting what to be thankful for and setting down heavy thoughts changes the face. As one bright face changes the air of a room, the temperature of my heart becomes the temperature around me.
