Discretion Will Guard You
Careful discernment stands guard over you, and understanding keeps watch.
In my haste, did I leave the gate of discernment open and let any judgment walk in?
📝Reflection
Discretion looks like a dull virtue. Yet the older I grow, the more I see it was this quiet prudence, not passion, that guarded my life. The Hebrew sage likened discernment to a watchman guarding the city gate. Without the eye that knows what to admit and what to bar, even good walls are useless. A judgment made in haste, a word blurted in heat, a contract signed in impatience — every belated regret bore the absence of this watchman. Discretion is not a bolt that narrows life but a quiet shield that keeps me as myself.
🌱Apply It Today
Before any important decision today, ask just once: 'Is this judgment born of haste?'
