Mt. Fuji in Winter <span class="mw
"Where is the eye of the painter who drew a snow-covered mountain so plainly?"
📝ONGO's Reflection
This is Mount Fuji in winter painted by Shibata Zeshin. The snow-covered mountain rises plainly, without excess. I see the power of this simplicity. Without brilliant color or dense description, one well-caught form conveys the whole majesty of the mountain. To convey something well, there are many times when one must pare away rather than add. If the single core is clear, the side branches can be left out. The winter mountain is cold and clear because simplicity has left only the essence.
🌱Apply It Today
When what you wish to convey grows blurred, pare away the side branches one by one rather than adding more.
