여지 가지 위의 새 (작자 미상)
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What did the single moment of a bird on a fruit-laden branch hold?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is an anonymous Yuan-dynasty Chinese painting, holding a bird perched on a branch hung with lychee fruit. The ripened fruit and the small bird blend together fondly. In this scene I see the harvest at the end of waiting. For the fruit to set on the branch took the flowers of spring and the sunlight of summer. The single fruit the bird enjoys came at the end of long, unseen time. Looking only at the fruit before us, it seems easy, but behind it the silent seasons are always stacked. The joy of reaping is the recompense of time endured.
