🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What is the reason for spreading birds and flowers over a gold ground?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is one of two Japanese six-panel screens painted by Kano Koi, in which birds and flowers spread over a gold ground. The gold leaf takes in the light and brightens the whole painting. My heart goes to this ground. However beautifully the birds and flowers are painted, only because there is a ground to support them do they shine. In human affairs too, behind what stands forward and shines there is a ground that quietly supports it. It is not only the actor who lights up the stage.

🌱Apply It Today

Do not look only at the place that shines; offer a warm gaze as well to the ground that holds it up.
