A single character, ui (義), meaning righteousness, fills the frame. The breath and resolve of the one who wrote it are steeped into every stroke. In this writing I read a resolution that goes beyond mere calligraphy. People speak countless words as they live, but it is rare to settle on one character to hold onto for a lifetime. The heart that wrote righteousness large and kept it near is a promise to look back to it whenever one wavers. A single character can become the pillar of a life.
