EB1911 Japan - Landscape in snow

🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What does a landscape wholly covered in snow give to the heart?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is a snow-covered landscape painted by the Japanese artist Kano Motonobu. Snow covers mountains and fields white, so the scene is still beyond measure. Though it came from the tradition of Japanese painting, that stillness carries anywhere. I see, in this snowscape, the peace of emptying. Snow covers the complicated in a single hue and settles all clamor. There are times when what is emptied rests the heart more than what is full. A heart wearied by clutter finally settles before such white stillness. At times, taking away is a greater comfort than filling.

🌱Apply It Today

When the heart is cluttered, rather than filling more, take away and make stillness.
