파적도 (고양이를 쫓다)
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"In the face of a sudden commotion, what is my first reaction?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

A cat snatches a chick and bolts; the old man on the veranda flings his body forward, and the yard erupts into chaos in an instant. Kim Deuk-sin captured that split-second urgency vividly. In this painting I see the truth of the moment when a peaceful daily life is shattered all at once. Life is not always quiet; an unforeseen commotion intrudes without warning. What matters is how quickly, yet not absurdly, I rise to my feet in that instant. The painter regards even that flustered scramble with warmth.
