🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What endurance does the pine islet on a rough shore reveal?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is an illustration from a gazetteer holding Senganmatsushima on the Uradome coast of Tottori, Japan. A pine standing lonely upon a rocky islet meets the fierce sea wind. In this single pine I see the strength of holding one's place. At the barren rock's edge, in a place where waves strike without end, the pine sinks its roots and endures. It is not that one cannot live because the ground is poor; it is the one who takes root in any ground that survives. Endurance is made not by circumstance but by will.
