🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"At a bustling ferry landing, where did the painter's eye rest?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This is Jeong Seon's painting of the Songpa ferry on the Han River. A ferry is a busy place where people and goods come and go, yet under Jeong Seon's brush even that bustle settles into one fold of mountain and water. I see this as the level of his eye. The same scene reads differently depending on who looks at it. Even amid the clamor of coming and going, he did not lose the great flow that river and mountain form together. Even in a place spinning frantically, one ought to keep an eye that sees the larger flow.
