🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"Why would someone set out to seek plum blossoms in the cold?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

With rough ink strokes drawn in a single breath, Kim Myeong-guk painted a figure setting out through the snow to seek plum blossoms. The surface is empty and the figure small, yet there is no hesitation in his stride. The plum is the flower that blooms first while it is still cold, so to seek it is to recognize spring before spring arrives. Good things come first to the eye that perceives them while the landscape is still barren, not when every part of the scene is in place. To the one who sets out rather than waits, the season opens a little earlier.
