북관유적도첩 - 창의토왜도(倡義討倭圖)
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"What do the figures who raised righteousness of their own accord and rose up tell us?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

This work is a documentary painting honoring those who, waiting on no one's command, raised righteousness of their own accord and rose up. It is a scene of people whose hearts moved first, ahead of duty or title. I see here the weight of a heart that steps forward unbidden. Great things do not always begin only with a command handed down from above. Those who set foot first upon what they held to be right are the ones who turn the current. They say a position makes the person, yet sometimes one who rises without a position makes the position.
