윤덕희 독서하는 여인(讀書하는 女人)
🖼 ONE LINE FROM THIS PAINTING

"Toward what is the figure of a woman seated before a book turned?"

📝ONGO's Reflection

Yun Deok-hui, son of Gongjae Yun Du-seo, painted a woman reading. In an age when learning was commonly thought the portion of men, the sight of a woman absorbed in a book is precious in itself. Here I see that the wish to learn knows no boundary. Everyone holds a longing to know, and before it any division loses its meaning. The hand turning the page is the quietest and firmest will of one who would widen her own world.
