DAY 18

Anger Breeds Delusion, Delusion Breeds Ruin

Bhagavad Gītā 2:63
기원전 2세기경 편찬(서사시 전승)
ORIGINAL
krodhād bhavati sammohaḥ ... buddhi-nāśāt praṇaśyati
📜 THE VERSE

From anger comes delusion, from delusion a clouded memory; when memory is lost, judgment collapses, and when judgment collapses, the person is undone.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

How often have I later regretted the decisions I made in the heat of anger?

📝Reflection

Continuing from the previous verse, the old teacher draws the final stair on which anger utterly undoes a person. Anger clouds judgment, and clouded judgment breeds mistakes that cannot be undone. So the wisdom is not merely to suppress anger, but to make no decision while swallowed by it. When anger has risen to the crown of my head, I learn to postpone important judgments and wait for the water to settle.
