When Friend Fails to Hear Friend
When friends fail to understand each other's words, though side by side, each stands alone. Only those who know how to share true speech truly walk together.
Do I trade words with those beside me yet drift on the surface, never touching each other's true heart?
📝Reflection
Even side by side, if friends do not truly understand each other's words, it is no different from each standing alone. The poet knows real togetherness lies not in physical distance but in words getting through. I often have the most surface-level talk with those closest to me. Using the same words we mean different things, and pretending to listen we let it slip past. To share true speech is not to trade information but to open our inner selves to each other. Mere proximity is not togetherness. Only when hearts pass back and forth do we walk the same road.
🌱Apply It Today
With someone close today, deliberately make one conversation that opens a real heart, not just exchanges information.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
