Auspicious undertakings naturally meet many obstacles, and even great souls are no exception.

Many people, upon meeting an obstacle, assume 'this path must be wrong.' This verse says the opposite — the more worthwhile the endeavor, the more obstacles it tends to meet. Saying that even great souls were no exception reminds us that meeting an obstacle now is not proof of failure, but perhaps proof that the work is worth doing.
