ORIGINAL
यत्र विद्वज्जनो नास्ति श्लाघ्यस्तत्राल्पधीरपि । निरस्तपादपे देशे एरण्डोऽपि द्रुमायते ॥ (yatra vidvajjano nāsti ślāghyas tatrālpadhīr api, nirastapādape deśe eraṇḍo'pi drumāyate)
📜 THE VERSE

Where no learned person is found, even the shallow-minded are praised — in a land stripped of trees, even the castor plant passes for a great tree.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

Am I standing tall only because there is no one to compare me to, or do I stand on real substance?

📝Reflection

Inside a narrow well, anyone can be king. But the moment I step outside it, my true stature is revealed. This verse asks me to question my own standing — do I shine because of real substance, or simply because no one nearby measures up?
