Fabre's Book of Insects
Even the tiniest creatures beneath my feet live so fiercely; how am I treating my own everyday life?
📝ONGO's Reflection
My arrogance in dismissing Fabre's study of insects as a mere children's book shattered completely the moment I turned the first page. The way a dung beetle rolls its dung and a mantis stalks its prey was a majestic epic in its own right. He spent his whole life lying flat on the ground, observing the world of insects and rendering the wonder of life into text. Watching their fierce devotion to survival, I grew deeply ashamed of all the hours I had let slip by in idleness. Even where no one is watching, life pulses on, this dazzlingly.
"Humanity seeks to uncover the secrets of nature, but the most beautiful part of that secret is life itself."Jean-Henri Fabre, Fabre's Book of Insects
"인간은 자연의 비밀을 캐려 하지만, 정작 그 비밀의 가장 아름다운 부분은 생명 그 자체에 있다."
