📜 THE VERSE

All conditioned things are like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, a shadow — like dew, like lightning. Thus should you see them.

❓ TODAY'S QUESTION

The worry that weighs heaviest on me — will it still weigh anything a hundred years from now?

📝Reflection

This is the four-line verse that compresses the whole Diamond Sutra. Read it once and it sounds bleak — all a dream, all a bubble. But the power of this verse is in becoming light. Morning dew soon dries; lightning flashes one instant and is gone. The worry crushing me now, the matter keeping me up at night — through time's eye, it is a single drop of dew. Knowing this does not make life meaningless. Quite the opposite: because the dew will soon dry, its brief sparkle is all the more beautiful. When we know nothing is forever, we live this present moment more deeply.

🌱Apply It Today

Picture your biggest worry today and ask: "Will this weigh this much in a year? In ten?" Usually it grows light, like dew.
