Giving All, Yet Without Love
Though I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and give up my body, but have no love, it profits me nothing.
That good deed I did—was it for the other, or to prove myself?
📝Reflection
Strikingly, Paul says even charity and self-sacrifice profit nothing without love. An outward good deed does not always spring from love. When we give to be recognized, to ease guilt, or to feel superior, the act may help others yet leaves nothing in us. Real love is divided not by outcome but by motive. Not what you gave, but the heart you gave it with, is what shapes you.
🌱Apply It Today
If you have a chance to give something today, first ask once: "Would I still do this if no one ever knew?"
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
