溫故知新 Old wisdom, today’s insight — ONGO
Always Pursue the Good
See that no one repays evil for evil, but always pursue what is good toward one another and toward all.
The words that hold me in this verse are "always" and "pursue." The Greek dioko means to chase actively, as a hunter tracks game.
Do I do good now and then, or do I always pursue it?
📝Reflection
The words that hold me in this verse are "always" and "pursue." The Greek dioko means to chase actively, as a hunter tracks game. Good is not done grudgingly when a chance comes but sought out first. Most people are satisfied merely avoiding evil, but Paul says go a step further — from the passivity of not repaying evil to the activity of pursuing good. I thought not doing wrong was enough, but that was only half. Good does not come if you stay still. It is met only when I walk out toward it first, today.
🌱Apply It Today
Today, do not stop at avoiding evil — go find and do one good thing on your own initiative.
This verse is read as universal humanistic wisdom, not religion — no faith is promoted, and the reflection is 100% original ONGO content.
